What is the HCG Diet?
The HCG Diet is a diet that involves HCG injections (human chorionic gonadotropin). It is recommended as an effective diet for individuals who have a large amount of body fat to shed and have not been successful with diet and exercise alone.
Previously the HCG diet was defined by a 500-calorie diet paired with daily injections of HCG. At HMFCC, we have found HCG to be very effective, but utilize a 1000-1500 calorie diet with HCG injections, preventing nutritional deficiency while also helping patients safely and effectively shed unhealthy pounds, up to 1 pound a day.
Why HCG injections?
- HCG reduces feelings of hunger, which allows the patient to comfortably reduce their calorie intake.
- HCG is a pro-hormone which helps the body make more hormones. Hormone imbalance is a very common reason for weight gain and this hormone offers help.
- HCG injections keep you from losing muscle while you diet and actually promote pure fat loss. This prevents slowed metabolism during dieting and encourages a metabolic reset, which can help prevent you from regaining weight lost.
- An HCG injection is the only proven method of taking HCG at this time. Injections should only be used under medical supervision, with a prescription from a licensed medical provider.
